Referrals came out today.

Finally more referrals came out today - the bad news is that it was only thru Jan. 9, 2006.  That is only five days worth and really only two days worth because of the weekend.

But the good news is that we are at least five days closer to our child.   So now we have 17 days left before it is our turn.  At this pace we are thinking that we would get our referral in July or Aug. which of course is right around the Olympics.  We are praying that we get referral before then but at the same time just hoping we get referral this year.  This process has been so up and down and every time we think we have it all figured out then something else changes.

The other interesting news is that our agency just sent out a letter saying that the Director has just resigned.  Hmmmmm.  So my question is did she really resign or is she just jumping off a sinking ship???   They are not replacing her but plan on running a one person office.  Again - hmmm?  What's a little more stress right?  More on this later I am sure.

Today we ran around town all morning then met some other adoptive families at Costco for lunch.  Everyone was having a really nice time and then all of a sudden one of the little girls took a dive on the floor head first.   One of the Dad's brought her over to us and she had split her chin open.  I felt so bad for her and her mom - they were both so scared.  So we gathered all the kids up in a shopping cart just to get them to our cars then I drove the families mini van to the children's hospital where the Dad met us.  They ended up there for a couple of hours but then wanted to take her to a facial specialist that was at another hospital.  My car was still on the other side of town so another family took me back there.  We then filled out an accident report at Costco and then finished our shopping.   We got a call about 7:30pm tonight saying that they were finally on their way home.  The cut had actually gone all the way to the bone and she had five stitches on the inside and twelve stitches on the outside.  But her parents said she did great - what a little trooper.

We have some friends of my husbands over for dinner tomorrow night.  Then Sunday sounds like we will be heading up to DH's brother's house for a few hours.
